When I was writing Come Here Darlin', I wanted to find a way to bring the story to life beyond the page. Music has always been an important part of my writing process, and alongside the Pinterest moodboards I create, I also create playlists on Spotify to act as an audio moodboard for the book.
I wanted to share this moodboard with you, as it isn’t just background noise, it lets you drop into the world and experience the characters’ highs and lows, and big moments on another level.
If you’ve picked up the ebook or paperback from my store, you’ll notice a special link right at the front. That link takes you straight to the playlist, so you can listen along as you read.
Highlights from the Playlist
Here are a few standout tracks and what they represent in the story:
Opening Track: A soft, welcoming melody that mirrors the calm before the story’s emotional waves begin.
Mid-Story Shift: A song with a haunting vocal line that echoes the uncertainty and conflict the characters face.
Climactic Moment: An upbeat, powerful tune that celebrates courage and change.
Closing Song: A gentle, reflective piece that leaves you with a sense of hope and new beginnings.
Each song was picked not just for its sound but for the feelings it evokes. When you listen, you might find yourself imagining scenes or sensing the characters’ emotions more deeply.
Creating this playlist was a way to share a deeper piece of the story. If you haven’t grabbed your copy yet, the ebook and paperback both include the link so you can listen along.
I hope this audio moodboard makes your reading experience richer and I'd love to know which tracks you kept coming back to, or made the biggest impact on your experience of the story, Hartley, and the characters.
